Jerry learned to play bass guitar, and joined a band consisting of his high school peers at the age of 14. "I learned a little at a time, the guys showed me things as we played more gigs," he recalls.
Jerry played coffee house performances and small music fests Near the college town of Menomonie Wisconsin, attempting to hone his skills as a piano player.
He performed with a Christian contemporary band from 1982/1983, and left performing to study music therapy at the University of Wisconsin of Eau Claire.
During his studies he worked as a pianist at the Seahorse inn, and began performing with the Michael Andrew trio. He then relocated to Topeka Kansas, and worked for approximately a year at the Club called The Loft.
In 1988, Jerry moved to St. Joseph Missouri where he presently lives and performs. He has performed in the area both singularly and with bands of all shapes and sizes. He performed at several Trails West festivals, The Maryville Blues festival, and the St. Joseph Blues festival held recently in the new Music hall.
He plans to release his second compact disk later this spring which will include many of his recent compositions.
"I love music," says Jerry, "and I like to play it all.
